I just received my third official review for A Girl's Guide to Time Travel! And with a huge sigh of relief, so far, everyone seems to like it. I can say I don't like the nervous feeling I get in the pit of my stomach every time I check for submitted reviews. My book is strange and "out there," so I really appreciate the early good news.
According to various sources, the number of Amazon reviews accumulated help get your book promoted more often at Amazon. I'm trying not to beg everyone that buys my book to give me an honest review, but on the inside, I'm begging, while wringing my hands pitifully.
As Spring emerges, I have author fairs and book signings in mind. I am thinking out of the box and contacting coffee shops and local pubs for possible events. One coffee shop said they'd never done a book signing, but are willing to talk to me about it. I have my foot in the door, now I just have to sell myself!
